The heart of GCR Grappling

Why Grappling?

The Sport of Control & Strategy

Grappling techniques illustration

What is Grappling?

A combat sport focused on clinching, throws, takedowns, and ground control — combining technique, leverage, and strategy over brute strength.

Gi Grappling

Traditional grappling with kimono (gi) — emphasizes grips, positional control, and technical precision. The foundation of all grappling arts.

No-Gi Grappling

Dynamic submission grappling without the gi — faster pace, wrestling-based entries, and direct application to MMA and self-defense.

Benefits

Full-body fitness, mental resilience, problem-solving under pressure, self-defense capability, and lifelong community.

Sportsmanship

Respect, humility in victory, grace in defeat. Grappling teaches character through honest, one-on-one competition.

International Pathway

UWW World Championships, Asian Games, World Games, and Olympic recognition pathway through WFI/GFI affiliation.
